Welcome to Phoenix Cricket Club: Your Cricket Home in Groningen. We are excited to introduce Phoenix Cricket Club, Groningen’s own club committed to promoting the cricket sport and providing training opportunities to cricket players in the north of
the Netherlands.

Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of eleven on an oval field, with a 22-yard playing matted strip called pitch at its center. The batting team scores runs by hitting the ball and running between wickets to make runs, while the opponent bowling & fielding team aims to dismiss the batsmen and limit runs. Phoenix Cricket Club was established in September 2022 and soon registered with the KNCB. A home to over 30 members including men, women & youth, the club is already playing in the KNCB 3rd Class league this year. At Phoenix Cricket Club, we aim to foster a love for cricket and provide an inclusive environment where players of all ages and skill levels can develop their abilities. We also organize a variety of cricket activities throughout the year, including:

• Training Sessions: Most sessions are held at Kardinge Sportcentrum, with a few at Europapark Sports Hall.
• Open Tournaments: Indoor tape-ball tournament in winter and outdoor tennis ball tournament in summer.
• School Clinics: Conducting sports clinics in schools to spread cricket awareness among students.
